Voices…

Psalm 91 spells out some very specific benefits of living in the shadow (covering) of God. In this text, we find three “voices” making observations as to what happens when humankind dwells in the presence of God.

I will say…

  • He alone is my refuge
  • He is my place of safety
  • He is my God
  • I trust Him
  • He will rescue me from every trap
  • He will protect me from deadly disease
  • He will cover me with His feathers
  • He will shelter me with His wings
  • His faithful promises are my armor and protection

The Psalmist says…

  • Do not fear the terrors of the night
  • Do not fear the arrows that fly by day
  • Do not fear disease
  • Do not fear disaster that strikes at midday
  • Though ten thousand fall and die around you, these evils shall not touch you
  • Open your eyes and you will observe the punishment of the wicked
  • No evil shall conquer you
  • No plague shall come near your house
  • He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go
  • The angels will hold you up with their hands so that you won’t stumble over stones
  • You will trample upon lions and cobras
  • You will crush fierce lions and serpents under my feet

God says…

  • I will rescue those who love me
  • I will protect those who trust in my name
  • I will answer them when they call on my name
  • I will be with them in trouble
  • I will rescue and honor them
  • I will reward them with a long life
  • I will give them My salvation

The only thing left to do is believe these observations…and then get started declaring what God has told us we can declare! What comes out of our mouth makes a big difference in how our life goes. I choose to start speaking positively today!

PRAYER: Father, thank you for your word which allows us to focus our mind and our words on the things that matter to you! Let me use my words to honor you. Amen.
