The Gardener’s Pruning
Devotional God, as the gardener, prunes us to remove unproductive elements and to help us grow. Pruning can be painful, as it involves letting go of old habits, mindsets, and things that no longer serve us. However, this process is essential for our spiritual growth and fruitfulness. When we trust God to prune us, we allow Him to shape us into the people He created us to be. Embrace the pruning process, knowing that it is for your ultimate good and growth.
Bible Verse “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” – John 15:2
Reflection Question What areas of your life might God be pruning right now, and how can you embrace this process?
Quote Pruning is pain. Letting go of those old things is scary, because if all your life you’ve been told that you have to perform, that you have to get the grades, that you have to have success for people to love you, and then for you to let go of that and say, oh, I’m not going to chase that anymore.
Prayer Father, I trust You as the gardener of my life. Help me to embrace the pruning process and to let go of anything that hinders my growth. Shape me into the person You want me to be. Amen.
