So, I’m turning 65 today! It’s a new season that includes 45 years of marriage to my sweet Donna, two children, 4 grands, and a great son-in-law. While some might fear the challenges that come with old age, as a believer, I have come to recognize the countless blessings that a long life holds for those who trust in the Lord. As the Bible says in Psalm 91:16 (NASB20), “With a long life I will satisfy him and let him see My salvation.”
Wisdom and Perspective:
Proverbs 16:31 (NASB20) beautifully states, “A gray head is a crown of glory; it is found in the way of righteousness.” One of God’s gifts to us as we grow older is the accumulation of wisdom and the ability to gain a broader perspective on life. Each experience becomes a lesson, every trial an opportunity for growth. This wisdom enables us to counsel, encourage, and guide not only the younger generation but also our fellow believers.
