Atmospheric Conditions

The other day, I was listening to someone giving a devotional thought concerning “the atmosphere.” The premise of the thought had to do with our ability to release positive or negative thoughts into the atmosphere with our words. As Christians, we know that what we say brings great consequences. When we speak negativity, doubt, unbelief, gossip, etc. we are loosing negative influences in our lives. Likewise, when we fill the atmosphere with praise, faith, expectation, etc., we are loosing positive influences into our lives. Scripture instructs us to choose between death and life…blessing or cursing.

I want to be a positive influencer. It is a path that I must choose if I am to succeed. Sometimes I find myself joking about being older, and less able to do what I once could. While there is some truth to that, the reality is that I am still a young, healthy, happy, man who is blessed beyond measure. Rather than filling the atmosphere with depressing thoughts of lost opportunity and ability, I would rather cultivate a Caleb spirit! I desire to be a man who looks for the possibilities. I want to envision conquest! I choose to see myself spending the days of my life standing on the mountaintop…declaring victory over everything the enemy may throw at me.

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer!” (Psalm 19:14)
