Pit Stop!
There were multiple distractions and opportunities for Abraham to turn aside from the plan of God, to decide he had gone far enough, but Abraham stayed focused on the journey. No matter how many pit stops he had to make along the way, nothing was going to prevent him from seeing the promises of God fulfilled.
Senseless Horses and Mules
God would show me the direction to go and because I was too scared or lazy or stubborn or proud, I would resist going where I needed to go! In retrospect, it’s embarrassing that I would even act like that.
Oh, Save Me From Them All!
But when we are crushed by the weight of circumstance or reeling from the attack of enemies, we can turn to God as our refuge and strength. He is the source of help and hope that will never fail us.
